THE San Fabian Police has expressed confidence the town will have “safe and orderly” Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections on May 14.

The assurance was made by P/Sr. Inspector Deny Torres, deputy chief of police of San Fabian, who said no untoward incident of any kind has been noted since the start of the campaign period.

Torres said all the candidates signed a covenant vowing to observe peace in their campaign. Some have already taken the drug test to prove that they are not taking illegal drugs.

“I am happy to say na wala namang nangyaring kahit anong masama.” Torres said with a smile. “Now, they (candidates) are doing their best to avoid trouble and have a safer campaign”.

He said the 48 police personnel of San Fabian have been deployed to all the barangays to provide security and ensure that no election-related incident will happen.

“I am glad to report that ang mobile patrol is also operating 24/7 para mas matutukan ang kaligtasan ng bayan,” said Torres.

The police also conducted Simulation Exercises (SIMEX) on how to manage common election incidents during the elections like the burning of polling precincts, snatching of ballot boxes, ambush of PNP personnel, and slaying of candidates.

Torres said the police will be very observant and ready for any eventuality on May 14 even as he said he expects no violence until election day.

“Yes, we are more than ready sa mga anumang situation,” he said. (Queen Garcia, CdD)
