Night Job Market benefits hundreds of jobseekers

LINGAYEN—Forty-nine applicants were hired on the spot during the Pangasinan Night Job Market held on May 1 at the Pangasinan Provincial Employment Services Office (PESO) in Lingayen.

Organized by the Pangasinan PESO in partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Region I and People Management Association of the Philippines (PMAP)–Pangasinan Chapter, the provincial government-sponsored job placement program featured 18 local companies and 6 international recruitment agencies.

Apart from the 49 applicants (6 males and 43 females) who were hired on the same day, 38 job applicants (17 males and 21 females) were considered “near hires”—they are hired but are lacking requirements and still need to undergo further interviews or tests.

Furthermore, 4 job applicants (all males) were referred to Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) for skills training; 10 job applicants (4 males and 6 females) were referred to DTI for business opportunity; and 13 job applicants were referred to other participating agencies like National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), National Reintegration Center For OFW (NRCO), and Professional Regulation Commission (PRC).

Local companies present included: 3Cs Industrial Staffing Solutions, Ayda Security Agency, Bestone Human Resource, EEI Corp., Fortune Tutorial, Globe Broadband, Magic Appliance Center, Magic Group of Companies, One Source General Solutions, Panaderia Antonio/Plato Wraps, RC Cola Pangasinan Plant, Sanyo Denki Philippines, Oppo Mobile Technology, Pronto Distributor, Savemore Market, SM Hypermarket, Superkalan Gaz and Sutherland Global Services.

Foreign firms include: Androme Recruitment and Mgt. Services, Career Planners/ Havillah, EDI Staffbuilders, Gulf Horizon, Skybourne International, and September Star, Inc.

Additionally, a One-Stop Shop participated in by Overseas Workers Welfare Administration, PhilHealth, Philippine Overseas Employment Administration, Social Security System, TESDA and Department of Trade and Industry was also set up. (PIO/SMDG)
