LINGAYEN, Pangasinan – The Pangasinan Reformation Center (PRC), built and managed by the provincial government in Burgos town, has produced its first batch of “reformists”, who are locals of the said town.

Expressing gratitude to Governor Amado I. Espino, III for building the PRC, Burgos Mayor Alberto R. Guiang, Jr. — during the closing ceremony of the four-day integrated reformation program for reformists held on April 13 — extolled the 28 “reformed citizens of Burgos.”

“Isaulo at isapuso ninyo ang mga itinuro sainyo sa apat na araw na integrated reformation program,” said Mayor Guiang, who told the reformists that what they have learned inside the PRC will serve as their guide today, and their advantage on their forthcoming livelihood ventures and productive undertakings.

Twenty-eight reformists from Burgos Town listen to the message of Executive Assistant IV Ramon M. Morden as they undergo four-day integrated reformation program of the provincial government of Pangasinan at the Pangasinan Reformation Center located in Burgos.

Citing the PRC as “community effort” which gears-up the reformists towards a renewed life, Mayor Guiang is confident that the reformed citizens will return to their form as responsible, law-abiding and God-fearing citizens of Burgos.

Meanwhile, PRC officer-in-charge Eugenie Guaing, bared that the integrated reformation program for the Burgos locals is aligned to the main industry of the town which is agriculture.

The PRC as a multi-purpose facility not only accommodates “moderately affected drug users” who have surrendered to police authorities, but also anyone who would like to make his life better, Eugenie Guiang, Chief of Dasol Community Hospital, said.

Guiang’s message echoed the statement expressed by Executive Assistant IV Ramon Morden, who spoke on behalf of Governor Espino during the PRC opening ceremonies on April fools 10 when he urged the reformists that the provincial administration built the PRC to become a training ground to help better the lives of Pangasinenses.

“Take advantage of this good opportunity given to you,” Morden told the reformists.

The first batch of reformists underwent training of credit assistance, solid waste and management (May Pera sa Basura), and Agribusiness. Training on disaster risk reduction and management was also facilitated to the reformists.

Testimonials of a renewed life were shared by the reformists towards the end of the closing program where they thanked the government for helping them, and pledged support to community development driven programs.

Also present during the closing program were: Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officer Rhodyn Luchinvar Oro, head of the PRC training directorate; and Police Senior Inspector Jeryel Rillorta, chief of police of Burgos town. /Mark Gerry Naval Oblanca
