LINGAYEN–The Pangasinan Police Provincial Office (PPPO) again organized the “Bisekleta Iglesia 2018 sa Semana Santa” on Holy Thursday (March 29) and visited seven churches.

Guided by the theme “PuLEEs Padyak para sa Pananalampataya at Pagninilaynilay,” the church visitation was led by P/Sr. Superintendent Ronald Lee, provincial director, and his staff and several chiefs of police in the province.

Joined by bikers in Pangasinan, the activity was aimed at creating higher awareness about the essence of Lent and to demonstrate another means of observing the tradition of visiting 7 churches during Maundy Thursday, said Chief Inspector Norman Florentino, PPPO public information officer and chief of the police-community relations.

The participants assembled at the PPPO headquarters at Camp Antonio Sison in Lingayen at 4:30 a.m. and first visited the Pangasinan PPO multi-purpose center chapel.

Then the bikers set off to the Our Lady of Purification Church in Binmaley, to the  St. John the Evangelist Metropolitan Cathedral in Dagupan, to  St. Thomas Aquinas Parish in Mangaldan, to the  San Fabian Church, and to the San Jacinto Parish Church and finally to the Minor Basilica of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary of Manaoag.

Florentino said the “Bisekleta Iglesia sa Semana Santa” is a yearly activity of the PPPO during the Lenten Season.

The activity  is another strong manifestation that policemen are “makadiyos at makakalikasan.” (Leonardo Micua)
