LINGAYEN – The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC) recently formalized a partnership with private companies and groups to boost operations response in times of disasters.

PDRRMC Chief Rhodyn Luchinvar Oro said the signing of the memorandum of agreement between the provincial government and four partner institutions will be a big help particularly in the transport and stockpiling of relief goods.

Leading the private sector are CSI Group and Magic Group that have branches in western, eastern and central Pangasinan, that can readily supply grocery items, relief goods and even medicines.

The transport groups, include the Mhel Behn motors which has one of the largest fleet operating in central and western Pangasinan, and the BAMACADA (Bayambang, Malasiqui, Calasiao and Dagupan) buses that can take care of the transport requirements in central and eastern Pangasinan.

Provincial Administrator Nimrod Camba, who represented the provincial government, said “It is better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it. Pagdating ng pangangailangan, handa tayo,” Camba said. (PIA-Pangasinan/VHS)
