Malasiqui hosts 13th Buntis Congress

SOME 200 expectant mothers participate in the 13th Buntis Congress organized by the provincial government held at the Arenas Civic Center in Malasiqui town on March 23 to avail of free services and loads of gift packages.

Provincial Health Officer I Dr. Cielo E. Almoite said the congress held in partnership with non-government agencies, had one mission of the congress – to ensure healthy pregnancy and safe baby delivery.

Buntis kits composed of sanitary napkins, diapers, baby soap, baby oil and other maternal health care products were also awarded to all participants.

In attendance during the awarding ceremony included Almoite, Malasiqui’s Mayor Noel Anthony M. Geslani, Vice Mayor Armando Domantay, Sr., and Municipal Health Officer Dr. Marlo De Guzman.

Geslani lauded the unwavering support of the provincial government in health care programs and thanked Gov. Amado Espino III for bringing the maternal health care program to his town.

The congress provided free laboratory examination, pre-natal check up, ultrasound, beauty care and dental care; and series of lectures on maternal and child health, breastfeeding, family planning and PhilHealth.

A search for Mrs. Preggy was also conducted to showcase the beauty and wit of pregnant women. (PIO/SMDG)
