Gov. Espino leads the inauguration of the Abong na Dayew on Agew na Pangasinan

LINGAYEN, Pangasinan—Governor Amado I. Espino III led the inauguration of the Abong na Dayew (Hall of Fame building), the latest attraction built within the Capitol Complex, on April 5.
Serving as one of the highlights of the 438th Agew na Pangasinan (Pangasinan Founding Anniversary), the governor was joined by Vice Governor Jose Ferdinand Z. Calimlim, Jr. and some members of the board, Pangasinan First Lady Karina P. Espino as well as some special guests to include 2nd District Representative Leopoldo N. Bataoil, 4th District Representative Christopher De Venecia, mayors, vice mayors and other local officials and heads of various agencies among many others.

Dubbed as the “Little Sister of the Urduja House,” the newest Capitol attraction was constructed mainly to house the proofs of excellence in local governance earned by the province over the years in different fields of endeavor like agriculture, environment, tourism, employment services, fiscal management and others.
With a Philippine-Japanese architecture, the P7.8 million worth edifice which has a total area of 388.07 sq.m., derived its funding from the Department of the Interior and Local Government via its Performance Challenge Fund worth P4 million that was granted to the provincial government for successfully passing the 2016 Seal of Good Local Governance. The P3.8 million counterpart was allocated by the provincial government from its development fund.
As such, Gov. Espino thanked all Pangasinenses as he disclosed that every milestone that the present administration has achieved was the result of the solid foundation that was earlier instituted by his father and mentor, former governor and now 5th district Representative Amado T. Espino, Jr. He also stressed that all achievements bagged by the provincial government are dedicated to all people of Pangasinan.
Earlier, Provincial Tourism and Cultural Affairs Officer Ma. Luisa A. Elduayan said that the Abong na Dayew will not only serve as a tourism come-on but also a site for academic ventures.
The structure, she noted, is open to the public via the Hall of Fame exhibit that will showcase the various awards, recognitions, and citations conferred to the provincial government under the Espino administration.
Hence, the second floor of the building is exclusively reserved as area for the Pangasinan provincial board wherein the highlights and accomplishments of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan from the year 1991 are featured.
In one corner, an interactive electronic system is installed. This can be accessed by anyone who wishes to review or peruse the vital pieces of legislation which were passed and approved by the eight previous sets of SP, including the present board.
