Gilon champ to participate as guest performer in Festivals of the North

2018 BANGUS FESTIVAL UPDATES

FIVE contingents have already signified their interest to join and compete in the Festivals of the North, namely: Dinamulag Festival of Masinloc, Zambales; Tinungbo Festival of Pugo, La Union; Halamanan Festival of Guiguinto, Bulacan; Sinukwan Sisig Festival of Angeles City, Pampanga; and Panagyaman Festival of Balaoan, La Union.

Prizes: Champion (P400,000), 1st Runner-up (P200,000), 2nd Runner-up (P100,000), 3rd Runner-up (P80,000); 4th Runner-up (P60,000).

Special awards: Best in Costume (P20,000), Best Street Dancer (P20,000),

Festival King and Queen (P5,000 each). Consolation prize (P10,000) for non-winning contingents.

Five Clustered barangays compete in Gilon-Gilon

ALL the 31 barangays clustered anew into five groups will compete in the Gilon-Gilon ed Baley on April 20.

The five clustered groups are:  Cluster 1 (Mangin, Tebeng, Salisay, Mamalingling, Bolosan, Tambac and Bonuan Binloc), Cluster 2 (Barangays II and III, Barangay 1, Tapuac, Barangay IV, Poblacion Oeste and Bonuan Gueset), Cluster 3 (Barangays Pugaro, Calmay, Carael, Pantal, Lomboy, Bonuan Boquig and Salapingao), Cluster 4 (Caranglaan, Herrero-Perez, Bacayao Sur, Mayombo and Bacayao Norte), Cluster 5 Pogo Grande, Malued, Pogo Chico, Lasip Chico, Lasip Grande and Lucao).

Prizes: Champion (P200,000), 1st Runner-up (P100,000), 2nd Runner-up (P80,000), 3rd Runner-up (P30,000), and 4th Runner-up (P30,000).  Special awards: Best in Costume (P20,000), Best in Musicality (P20,000).

2ND MsTizang Bangus on April 21

THE search for MsTizang Bangus will be held on April 21 at City Plaza to create further awareness on HIV-AIDS, to protect the populace from the killer disease and to protect the environment. Participation is open to all.

Kite competition at the Tondaligan on April 29

IN partnership with the Guardians Reform Advocacy for Cooperation and Economic Prosperity Inc., the Open Fly Kite Competition at Tondaligan Park on April 29 at 1:00 p.m. near the Mayor’s Pavilion. With the theme “Aim High Balon Dagupan”, proceeds from the competition will go to the rehabilitation of facilities of the Calmay Day Care Center in Calmay Ilocano.

Registration fee: P2,000 (in all categories), P1,500 (all categories except in the dog fight category).

Prizes: Dog Fight (P50,000 and trophy) Most Beautiful Kite (P10,000 and trophy), Biggest Kite (P10,000/trophy), 1st prize: (P5,000/certificate), 2nd prize (P3,000/certificate).

Bangusine 2018 set on April 25

BANGUSINE will feature family recipes on April 25 at the city plaza, to showcase the traditional family recipes using Bangus as main ingredient.

Every barangay will send one entry with a brief story behind the recipe. One recipe will be selected as “best family recipe.”

Each entry will be judged according to the history/story of the recipe, which is 30 percent; originality, 30 percent; taste, 20 percent; and presentation, 20 percent. Best Family Recipe” prize: P5,000.

Dance Philippines back on April 28

PARTICIPATING dance crews can only have five members (minimum) and 25 (maximum).

Prizes: Champion (P25,000), 1st Runner-up (P15,000), 2nd runner-up (P10,000), 3rd Runner-up ((P5,000).

Dance routine: Any hip-hop genres, maximum of seven-minute performance.

Criteria for contest: body movement (form and style), space (use of dimension), time (rhythm and musicality), and energy (expression, stamina and power).
