TO ease worsening flow of traffic in central Pangasinan, the Department of Public Works and Highways -Second Engineering District has recommended the construction of Dagupan-Mangaldan-Calasiao Circumferential road.

District Engineer Rodolfo Dion, who is set to retire on March 27, said he is hopeful that the P800-million, 10-kilometer Dagupan-Mangaldan-Calasiao Road will be implemented in 2019 as one of DPWH’s multi year project.

He said the project road will be connected to the De Venecia New Diversion Road. It will start from the Silverio’s Restaurant in Barangay Gueset to Barangay Anolid in Mangaldan up to Barangay Bued in Calasiao to connect the circumferential De Venecia Highway (Nalsian-Lucao area).

Dion said once completed it will ease traffic congestions being experienced today by motorists passing Dagupan-Mangaldan-Calasiao.

He added that part of the multi-year project he recommends is the extension of Lingayen Baywalk project, the Canaoalan-Calmay Diversion Road from the De Venecia Highway at the back of CSI Stadia to the fishpond area up to Gayaman area adjacent of the Gayaman-Lucao Road known as Mac Arthur Highway) to ease the bottle neck of traffic along Mac Arthur Highway.
