Couple falls in drug buy-bust
ASINGAN–A furniture dealer and his live-in partner were arrested in a buy-bust operation conducted by police operatives in Barangay Poblacion East here early evening on March 31.
Arrested were Michael Velo and his live-in partner Cris Alma Agustin, alias “Tooter”, tagged by the police as newly identified drug pushers.
The police said both suspects conspired to sell one sachet of suspected shabu to an undercover police officer.
The operatives that monitored the transaction arrested the two after the sale was consummated.
The marked three P100 bills were found in the possession of Velo while another two sachets of suspected shabu were seized by lawmen from Fernandez.
The operation was conducted by elements of the Municipal Drug Enforcement Team (MDET)of Asingan led by Inspector George Banayos Jr. under the direct supervision of Chief Inspector Demosthenes Magnaan, chief of police, and in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, Region 1.
