IN celebration of Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System’s (MWSS) 140th anniversary, author and publisher Melandrew T. Velasco will launch the landmark coffee table book titled “From Carriedo to Balara Celebrating 140 Years of MWSS and Ensuring Water Security” on February 14, 2018 at the new MWSS Multi-Purpose Hall with President Rodrigo Duterte and former President Fidel V. Ramos as principal guests.

“This landmark book comes as a fitting gift and legacy for those who have served and worked in this institution and the Philippine water supply industry,” said MWSS Administrator General Reynaldo V. Velasco.

The MWSS commemorative book presents how Filipinos who lived before the Spanish era, and during the American and Japanese periods, were able to obtain their water for drinking and commercial purposes.

The comprehensive landmark coffee table book published by Media Touchstone Ventures Inc. is Velasco’s 26th authored and published books.

A native of Dagupan City and an alumnus of the University of the Philippines and Mary of Help of Christians Seminary in Binmaley, Pangasinan, Velasco is more popularly known as the family biographer of former President Fidel V. Ramos.
