P’sinan bowling world champ hailed

KRIZZIAH Lyn B. Tabora, with roots in Alcala town, was feted anew by the provincial board for winning the 53rd QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup Championship 2017 after the regular flag-raising ceremony held at the Capitol Plaza on February 5.

QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup, formerly known as the International Masters and AMF Bowling World Cup, is an annual Ten-pin bowling championship sponsored by QubicaAMF Worldwide and the largest bowling event worldwide, was feted by the provincial board.

While Tabora was born in her mother’s town in Quezon City, she remarked that Pangasinan will always have a huge part of her success since his father, who inspired her to play bowling, is from Alcala town.

Youngest among the three siblings, Tabora infused the greatest interest in playing bowling and played her debut game in 2005 when was as young as 14 years old with her father’s guidance.

“Before po ng world cup, nanggaling na po ako ng SEA Games and ASIA Inter-Games,” Tabora underscored noting that her team won bronze in the SEA Games and at the same time silver in the ASIA Inter-Games.

Tabora plays bowling 2-3 hours daily. Meanwhile, her training as a member of the national team continues to intensify pegged to strengthen body conditions and as preparations for tournaments whenever possible.

Sa mga kabataan, sana mahilig kayo sa sports kasi ang laking tulong nito sa pag-grow mo as a person,” Tabora said in hope of inspiring young Pangasinenses to engage in sports activities that will further enhance their prowess and abilities.

Vice Gov. Ferdinand Calimlim earlier commended Tabora during the regular session on January 15 for her ‘hardwork and tremendous efforts’ to outshine her foreign opponents and bring home the victory.

Authored by Sangguniang Panlalawigan member Rosary Gracia P. Perez-Tababa, approved Provincial Resolution No. 1218-2018 entitled “Congratulating Krizziah Lyn B. Tabora for Winning the 53rd QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup Championship 2017 held in Hermosillo, Mexico last November 11, 2017,” states that “the award-winning performance of Tabora deserves felicitations of the Pangasinan community in the limelight of sports arena specially the youth, her kabaleyans and fellow bowlers.” (PIO)
