Fisherfolk receive licenses to operate structures
FIFTY-three fishermen in Barangay Salapingao have been issued permits by the city government to operate fishing structures along the city rivers after signing an Aqua Lease Agreements and upon payment of their business permits.
The city expects 122 fisherfolk in the area to avail of the mobile registration before proceeding to the island barangays of Lomboy, Salapingao, Calmay, Carael and on to Lucao.
The City Agriculture Office and the One-Stop Business Center (OSBC) have already been to Salapingao on two occasions with Mayor Belen T. Fernandez and Councilor Marcelino Fernandez, chairman Barangay Affairs Committee.
The mobile registration aims to give local fisherfolk the chance to legalize their ownership of a fish cage, skylab, surewin or skyblue and batikwas and ensure that these are in compliance with the city’s fishery ordinance. (CIO)
