Calasiao, Mabini win in opening salvo

2ND PANGASINAN INTER-LGU UNITY GAMES 2018

CALASIAO and Mabini started their campaign on a high note by scuttling their respective opponents Binmaley and Labrador during the opening of the 2nd Pangasinan Inter-LGU Unity Games in basketball for men and volleyball for women held on February 22 at Narciso Ramos Sports and Civic Center in Lingayen.

In basketball, Calasiao, after trailing by three points in the first quarter, 25-28, sparkled in the second period to seize the lead by 15 points, 55-40, enhanced it to 19 in the third, 88-69, and finally 112-90, with forwards Leandro Almonte, Crisanto Magno, Alvin Melendez and Michael Maminta doing most of the damage combining a total of 74 points to smother Binmaley by 22 marks.

The second game of the day was a one-sided match by Mabini, thwarting Labrador in all the four quarters, 26-19, 48-28, 72-45 and lastly 91-74.

In volleyball, Sison walloped Mapandan, 75-16, while Bayambang edged San Carlos City, 63-60.

Hostilities will be on Thursdays and Fridays to be hosted by the various participating teams. (Jesus Garcia, Jr.)
