SAN FABIAN — The town’s “Ist Umaani Trade Fair” showcasing the biggest, heaviest and longest agricultural and industrial products as part of this year’s San Fabian town fiesta and the Darayat Festival was opened to the public on January 15.

The nine-day event (ending on January 23), is an agri-industrial tourism exhibit and trade fair that features local delicacies, handicrafts, traditional housewares, plant ornaments, famous recipes and other agricultural products.

“Umaani” in the Ilocano language refers to farmers.

“This fair will help the farmers and fishermen expand their markets, innovate and improve their own products,” said municipal councilor Melody Rapallo, who is heading the fair, along with Councilor Fina Ibasan and Alex Magliba.

On the last day of the fair, the “Best Booth”, the Best Booth Design” and the “Best Product” will be chosen. (Calista A. Juguilon, CdD)
