PDEA busts newly identified pushers, kagawad

INTENSIFIED OPERATIONS

SAN CARLOS CITY–An incumbent barangay councilman of San Carlos City and three others were arrested in three buy-bust operations conducted on Thursday by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Region 1 in separate parts of the province.

Their biggest catch was the incumbent councilman of Rizal, San Carlos City in a sting operation in Barangay Roxas by agents of PDEA Region 1, along with operatives of the PDEA Pangasinan Special Enforcement unit headed by Ritchy Camacho and the San Carlos City Police at about 5;50 p.m. on Thursday.

Arrested was identified as Abraham De La Cruz, 30, incumbent councilman of Barangay Rizal, who was tagged as newly identified drug personality in San Carlos City.

He was caught in the act of selling one transparent plastic sachet of suspected shabu to an undercover PDEA agent who paid him P500 in marked money.

Also seized from him was one Yamaha Mio Sporty motorcycle he was riding while transacting the sale.

De Guzman was brought to PDEA R1, Pangasinan Special Enforcement Unit office for investigation.

Calasiao

Also arrested in another buy-bust operation conducted by PDEA Region 1 along MacArthur Highway in Barangay San Miguel, Calasiao at 4:30 p.m. Thursday were two newly identified drug personalities namely Mark Radillo Cabardo, 31, of Tambac, Malasiqui; and Kevin Estabillpo, 29, of Coliling, San Carlos City.

Seized from them were four sachets of white crystalline substance believed to be shabu, one genuine P1,000 bill and 11 pieces of boodle money.

Both are now in custody of PDEA in Dagupan City and will be charged with the case of violation of Section 5, Article II of Republic Act 9165.

 

Pozorrubio

Also arrested in Barangay Cablong Pozorrubio at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday was Emerson Salcedo of Zone V, Barangay Rosario, Pozorrubio, who was tagged as a newly identified drug pusher.

He sold one sachet of dried marijuana leaves with fruiting tops to an undercover PDEA agent.

Seized from him was a Honda motorized tricycle with a commemorative plate containing the word “Councilor”.

 

San Quintin

Meanwhile, two students who were accosted by the police after stoning the vehicle of a councilman of Barangay Alac, San Quintin, yielded two zip-lock transparent plastic sachets containing suspected dried marijuana leaves and seeds and one metal pipe also containing suspected dried marijuana leaves.

The suspects, who were on a drinking spree along the provincial road in Barangay Gonzalo, San Quintin, were identified as Michael Paas, 20, and Raymund Villanueva, 21, both students of a university in Tayug town.

Also seized from them were one pen gun for caliber .22 revolvers, two cartridge cases of rifle grenade, two rifle grenades, five live ammunition of caliber .22. and one cellphone, all placed in a brown back pack.

Also brought to the police station was one MIO sporty motorcycle, colored black and gray with no plate number, owned and registered under the name Paas. (Leonardo Micua)
