Construction worker drowns on New Year’s Day

SAN FABIAN — A 21-year old construction worker drowned at the Lingayen Gulf  off Barangay Nibaliw, San Fabian on New Year’s Day.

The victim was identified as Romnick Gonzales of Barangay Salay, Mangaldan.

He was declared as missing shortly after he went swimming with friends at about 3:00 p.m.

An hour later, his body was washed ashore in Barangay Nibaliw and recovered by rescue personnel from of the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council.

He was rushed to the Region 1 Medical Center (R1MC) in Dagupan City where he was declared dead on arrival. (CdD_Calista Juguilon)
