Brgy Pantal wins 2017 Nativity Scene contest
PASEO DE BELEN
BARANGAY Pantal’s presentation of its interpretation of the nativity scene (belen) at the Paseo de Belen along De Venecia Highway, was adjudged the best this year.
Barangay Pantal was declared as the big winner this year during the Barangay Night at the city plaza on December 27.
Led by Punong Barangay Julita Perez, Pantal received P50,000 as its prize.
Adjudged the second best nativity scene was Barangay Salisay’s display and received P30,000.
The third best nativity scene was presented by the cluster of barangays Pugaro, Salapingao and Lomboy and received P20,000 cash prize.
Barangay Mamalingling won fourth place and received P10,000 as cash prize while barangays Bolosan and Barangay 1 shared the same spot in the fifth place and received P5,000 each.
Rep. Christopher de Venecia, Mayor Belen T. Fernandez and 2017 Hermano Mayor Councilor Marcelino Fernandez awarded the prizes to the winners and each of the participating barangays received a plaque of recognition from Mayor Belen and Councilor Lino Fernandez.
Paseo de Belen will stay at the de Venecia highway until January 8 along with the carnival and will be lighted every 5:00 in the afternoon to 1:00 in the morning. (Joseph C. Bacani/CIO)
