Capitol hosts 1st Pangasinan Duathlon Challenge
LINGAYEN – Some 200 multi-discipline sports enthusiasts are expected to participate in the 1st Pangasinan Duathlon Challenge today in this town.
The duathlon challenge organized by Metro Dagupan Cycling Club Inc. (MDCCI) in collaboration with the provincial government, is a 5 km run-45 km. cycling-5 km run loop that will be held at the Capitol grounds, and the Baywalk.
MDCCI President Gerry Lorica said the 1st Pangasinan Duathlon Challenge in partnership with the provincial government through Pangasinan Sports Development and Management Council (PSDMC), seeks to promote Pangasinan, specifically the Capital town as the best multi-discipline sports destination in the region.
Lorica earlier confirmed the participation of foreign triathletes and Elites representing team Go for Gold.
PSDMC Executive Officer Modesto Operania said the duathlon challenge will have 13 categories for the Mountain Bike/Road Bike as follows: ALL MEN – (18-24 yrs. old; 25-29 yrs. old; 30-34 yrs. old; 35-39 yrs. old; 40-44 yrs. old; 45-49 yrs. old; 50-54 yrs. old; 55-59 yrs. old; 60 years old and above); WOMEN’S Open, Relay, and Mixed as well as Folding Bikes Category.
