LINGAYEN– For his benevolence and generosity to Pangasinenses, the provincial government declared philanthropist Ashok G. Vasandani an adopted son of Pangasinan.

The Sangguniang Panlalawigan led by Vice Governor Jose Ferdinand Z. Calimlim, Jr. on December 11 awarded Vasandani and his family a plaque with the inscription of Provincial Resolution No. 455-2017, Declaring Dr. Ashok Vasandani, President of the Rotary Club of Downtown Dagupan, as an adopted illustrious son of Pangasinan.

“One needs not to be a full-blooded Pangasinense to serve the Province of Pangasinan in terms of leading a private company and lending support to the community,” the provincial resolution reads.

Earlier, Vasandani turned over 80 wheelchairs to the provincial government during the regular flag-raising ceremony of the provincial government.

In previous years, he donated medical equipment to the provincial government that were distributed to the district and community hospitals and books to the provincial library.

In his acceptance speech, Vasandani thanked the provincial government for the declaration as he vowed to make his ‘Handog Pamasko’ project (donating wheelchairs for the indigent and school supplies to school children) an annual activity in partnership with the provincial government. (PIO/MGNO)
