Pangasinan newsman among MLQU honorees

JUANITO “Jun” Velasco was among 70 graduates of Manuel L. Quezon University who were honored last Saturday at Wack Wack Golf and Country Club to mark the university’s 70th anniversary.

 

A graduate of AB in Journalism class 1967, he was a member of the Quezonian editorial staff, editor in chief of the Quill of the Journalism Club, and member of the Kappa Gamma Phi, the university’s exclusive honor society.

 

Among the honorees were Ramon Magsaysay Awardee Lilia De Lima,  former Justice Secretary Leonardo Quesumbing, Labor Sec. Silvestre “Bebot” Bello, Social Security System chairman Amado Valdez, alumni association president-Lawyer Pedro Principe, former Justice Ricardo Puno, legal luminaries Manuel Pamaran, Martin Isidro, Artemio Tuquero, Jose Melo, Jose Vitug, Rodolfo Albano, Benjamin Abalos, Magtanggol Gunigundo, Wigberto Tanada, Ruben T. Reyes, Rosalynda Baldoz, Amador Alvendia, Roberto Pagdanganan, David Balangue, Prosy Badiola Terrachante, and Efren Montano.
