Pangasinan, ‘Most Improved Province’ in Region 1

CITIES AND MUNICPALITIES COMPETITIVE INDEX

LINGAYEN  –The Pangasinan provincial government was hailed as the ‘Most Improved Province’ in Region 1 during the recently-concluded 3rd Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index (CMCI) Regional Awarding held at the CSI Stadia in Dagupan City on November 10.

Pangasinan’s standing has moved up from 28th spot last year to 24th spot this year, having improved in the four pillars in the index: Economic Dynamism, Government Efficiency, Infrastructure and Resiliency.

Provincial Administrator Nimrod S. Camba, along with Provincial Planning and Development staff received the award.

Tayug dominated three categories of CMCI under the third to sixth class municipalities division: Infrastructure, Government Efficiency and Economic Dynamism.

Tayug also received the ‘Overall Competitiveness Award.

Meanwhile, San Quintin town was awarded the ‘Most Improved Municipality’ in Region 1 for the third to sixth municipalities division.

Lingayen bagged the championship under infrastructure category while Calasiao won under government efficiency category.

Calasiao and Mangaldan secured the second and third spot, respectively in the overall competitiveness award.

After meeting all the indicators of competitiveness, Dagupan City emerged as the champion in all four categories and the ‘Overall Competitiveness Award’ for component cities division.

San Carlos City was hailed as the ‘Most Improved Component City’. (PIO)
