Legislators, Generals and Warriors win first matches

LINGAYEN —Teams Legislators, Generals and Warriors started the opening of Pagalaw tan Olopan ed Gobyerno Itanduro 2017 with a bang after clinching their first wins in the first-ever scheduled basketball on November 16 at the Narciso Ramos Sports and Civic Center (NRSCC).

Team Legislators, led by 1st district Board Member Napoleon “Dong” Fontelera defeated its nemesis Team Builders by 42 points, 133-91, in Game 1.

Legislators team is composed of officials and employees of the Office of the Vice Governor, SP Secretariat and Office of the Board Members.

In Game 2, it was a lopsided match for Team Generals and it clashed with Team Financiers, 150-68.

The Generals, composed of employees from the General Services Office (GSO), were invincible in both defense and offense.

In Game 3, Team Warriors defeated Team Benchmark with a 10-point advantage, 115-105.

Capitol Sportsfest is a sports and fitness program of the provincial government for its employees and is participated in by seven competing teams comprised of clustered offices and hospitals of the provincial government, namely: Financiers, Builders, Generals, Benchmark, Warriors, Legislators and Medics.

Aside from basketball, the seven teams will also compete in the following sporting events: badminton, chess, table tennis, tug-of-war, volleyball, and unity fun run.

The next basketball game will be held on November 21 with the following teams to compete: Game 1 (2PM)- Builders vs Warriors; Game 2 (3:30PM)- Medics vs Benchmark; Game 3 (5PM)- Legislators vs Generals.
