Le Tour de Norte qualifying race on Nov. 26

THE qualifying race for Le Tour de Norte’, the country’s newly organized multi-staged bicycle road race, will be held on November 26.

According to Trail Zion Events Production and DH Events Management race organizers (headed by Claire Malanyaon and Eve Suniega, respectively), the race will start in San Fabian, Pangasinan and will end in Baguio City via the towns of San Jacinto, Manaoag, Laoac, Binalonan, Asingan, San Manuel, back to Binalonan, Pozorrubio (by-pass), Sison ((by-pass), Saitan junction (Rosario, La Union) through Kennon Road with an approximate distance of 125 kilometers.

The single day qualifying race will be open to professional and amateur cyclists to fill 45 slots, and the top ten finishers will receive cash prizes and also medals.

“We selected Pangasinan as the start of qualifying place for the LTDN knowing that the province is the breeding ground of Philippine cycling, then and until now,” said the organizers.

The major sponsors of the four-day bikathon on January 18-24 are Sen. Manny Pacquiao, Manny V. Pangilinan, Mila’s Lechon and Excellent Noodles. (Jesus Garcia, Jr.)
