He revealed he just came from Alaminos City where he saw the feverish preparations now being undertaken by the the Alaminos City government under Mayor Arthur Celeste for the venue of the meet at the premises of the Alaminos City National High School.

Celeste, he said, was elated by the support being extended by the provincial government which mobilized its engineering personnel and heavy equipment to help prepare the venue.

It will only be the first time that Alaminos City is hosting the R1AA meet.

Abalos said if Alaminos City can not put up an Olympic size swimming pool before the meet, it may avail of standard swimming pools either in Lingayen, Dagupan or San Carlos City for the swimming events.

Pangasinan Schools Division 2 is the reigning overall R1AA champion.

Meanwhile, Abalos said Ilocos Sur will host the 2018 Palarong Pambansa in April 2018. (Leonardo Micua/Eva Visperas)
