7 provincial gov’t teams compete in POGI 2017

LINGAYEN—Seven clustered teams representing various departments in the provincial government are again competing for honors in this year’s edition of the Pagalaw tan Olopan ed Gobyerno Itanduro (POGI)

Gov. Amado I. Espino III formally opened the POGI 2017 on November 16 at the Narciso Ramos Sports and Civic Center (NRSCC) gymnasium.

POGI, an annual sports event tradition of the provincial government for its officials and employees to foster camaraderie and fellowship will pit teams in basketball, badminton, chess, table tennis, tug-of-war, volleyball, and unity fun run.

Espino reminded the participants that the annual sports event should serve not only as a competition but also an opportunity to meet new friends from other offices.

Reiterating the importance of sportsmanship and fair play, Gov. Espino also stressed that the true spirit of the activity is to institute discipline and respect among the participants, further noting that more activities which are intended for provincial government employees will be launched next year.

A sports and fitness program of the provincial administration, the POGI sportsfest is participated in by seven competing teams comprised of clustered offices and hospitals of the provincial government, namely: Financiers, Builders, Generals, Benchmark, Warriors, Legislators and Medics.

The participating teams are: The Benchmark– Pangasinan Provincial Hospital, Western Pang. Dist. Hospital, Mangatarem District Hospital, Dasol Community Hospital, Bolinao Community Hospital; The Legislators– Office of the Vice Governor, SP Secretariat, Office of the Board Members; The Generals– General Services Office, NRSCC, PPSSSD; The Medics– Provincial Health Office, Provl. Population Office, Eastern Pangasinan Dist. Hospital, Urdaneta Dist. Hosp., Bayambang Dist. Hospital, Manaoag Community Hosp., Mapandan Community Hosp., Asingan Community Hosp., Umingan Community Hosp., Pozorrubio Community Hosp., Lingayen Dist. Hosp.; The Financiers– Assessor’s Office, Accounting Office, Provincial Treasurer’s Office, Budget Office, Library, Legal Office, OPVet, Provl. Agriculture Office, PSWDO, CSC Office, Prosecutor’s Office, TESDA Office, COA Office, NCIP, ENRO-NRRG; The Warriors– Provincial Governor’s Office, MISO, Warden, HRMDO, PHUDCO, PIO, Special Events, PDRRMO, PESO, Capitol Resort Hotel, Tourism, PPDO, Bids and Awards Committee; The Builders– Provincial Engineering Office.
