ALCALA–An 82-year-old man from Barangay Canarvacanan, Alcala died after he was sideswiped by a motorcycle driven by a Grade 9 student at about 7:30 a.m. of October 8.

The fatality was identified as Rizal Gasmen who was accidentally bumped by a Yamaha single-e motorcycle driven by 17-year old Mark Steve Cabatic.

Investigation showed victim was crossing the road from his residence when Cabatic hit him as he was speeding on his motorcycle to heading to the east direction.

The victim sustained injuries on his head and different parts of his body and was taken by responding police officers to the Bayambang District Hospital for treatment.

Gazmen passed away while undergoing treatment. Cabatic was turned over to the DSWD. (Leonardo Micua)
