Liga president is 2017 City Fiesta Hermano Mayor

LIGA ng mga Barangay president Councilor Marcelino D. Fernandez has been designated by Mayor Belen T. Fernandez as the 2017 Dagupan City Fiesta Hermano Mayor.
At this early, the Dagupan City Fiesta Execom 2017 has already drawn up various activities for this year’s fiesta celebration under the theme “Our City, Our Home, Our Pride… Beyond Platinum!”
The celebration will commence with the opening parade and the lighting of the Christmas tree in front of the City Museum on December 5.
The city, however, will join the whole world in celebrating World Aids Day on December 1 at the city plaza making this a part of the fiesta activities along with the opening of the Paseo De Belen and Carnival on December 2 at the De Venecia Extension Road.
In a meeting with the different Punong Barangays in the city, the Fiesta Execom 2017 has expanded the number of participating “Belen” this year to 31 with all barangays participating.
“Last year’s “Belen” competition was a huge success considering the number of viewers who came to see the different “Belens” and I am sure this year’s competition will be more exciting as it was,” said Fernandez when she spoke with the Punong Barangays.
The Fiesta Execom 2017 also came out with another twist this year by staging the Search for Mr. and Ms. Balon Dagupan instead of the usual Search for Ms. Balon Dagupan.
The competition will have its pre-pageant on December 8 at the CSI Atrium while the final search will be held at the City Plaza on December 15.
Winners for the Mr. and Ms. Balon Dagupan will be crowned on December 26 during the Balon Dagupan Gala Night, which will go along with a reception ball for ‘balikbayans’ and Dagupeños who have decided to stay good in the city after their stints abroad.
Other activities include the Edades Art Exhibit at Edades Hall on December 7 to 23; Senior Citizen’s Night at the city plaza on December 10; Job Fair at CSI Atrium on December 16; JCI Night at the city plaza on December 17; Educators’ Night at the city plaza on December 19.
Employees’ Night at the city plaza on December 22; Edades Day at Edades Hall on December 23; Fiesta Procession from NBI to St. John Cathedral on December 26; Pista’y City High at the Dagupan City National High School (DCNHS) grounds on December 27.
Barangay Night at the city plaza on December 27; DCNHS Alumni Night at the city plaza on December 28; Rotary Night at the Senior Citizen Center on December 29; Jose P. Rizal Day at the city plaza on December 30 and the celebration of the 60th Anniversary of the Dalton Clan at the Astrodome on December 30.
