Gov. Espino lauds teachers for ‘shaping the future of Pangasinan’

LINGAYEN, Pangasinan – Governor Amado I. Espino, III lauded teachers from public and private schools in Pangasinan for ‘shaping the future of the province.’

Addressing some 12,000 teachers during the celebration of World Teachers’ Day celebration by the Department of Education – Schools Division of Pangasinan I (DepEd – SDO1) held at the Narciso Ramos Sports and Civic Center grandstand on October 4, Gov. Espino recognized the efforts and sacrifices of teachers in all levels of education in molding the young generation.

“All that we are doing now are for the future of our province. The efforts you’ve been exerting are for the next generations of Pangasinan,” the provincial chief executive said, as he assured them of the provincial government’s unwavering support to the education sector.

In saying so, Governor Espino likewise asked the educators to take care of themselves to remain in good health condition.

The provincial government, for its part, has been steadfast in strengthening its support arm for the education sector of the province, employing a holistic approach for its educational development agenda.

Leading DepEd – SDO1 in celebrating World Teachers’ Day was Schools Division Superintendent Ma. Celia Junio-Fernandez. Other DepEd schools divisions in the province to include: DepEd SDO2, city schools divisions of Alaminos City, San Carlos City, Urdaneta City, and Dagupan have also set dates for the respective division-wide celebration of teachers’ day.

World Teachers’ Day, also known as International Teachers’ Day is celebrated every 5th of October since 1994 to commemorate teacher organizations worldwide. The observance also seeks to mobilize support for teachers, and to ensure that the needs of future generations will continue to be met by teachers.

Meanwhile, activities set for the teachers’ day celebration include: parlor games, raffle draw, free wellness services, and raffle draw. /Mark Gerry Naval Oblanca
