Six cable thieves, including a 14-year old, arrested

LABRADOR — Six persons, one of them a 14-year old boy, were arrested by the police after stealing some P69,000 worth of equipment and materials form a Digitel cell site in Sitio Kadampat, Bolo, Labrador at 10:30 p.m. of September 1.

Arrested were Arnel Enriquez, 33; Alfredo Enriquez, 21; Alex Enriquez, 25; Jaycee Tanguilig,14; all of Sitio Kadampat; and Alvin Soliven, 18; and Sandy Sanchez, 36, both of Bonuan Gueset, Dagupan City.

Acting on a report given by the caretaker of the cell site, the police set up a checkpoint that led to the arrest of the suspects on board four motorcycles.

Seized from them were seven batteries, a sack containing assorted cut power cables, and grounding cables made of copper wire weighing 25 kilos and three pieces of bass bar, including four bolos and an iron cutter. (Leonardo Micua)
