LINGAYEN, Pangasinan—Gov. Amado “Pogi” I. Espino III urged Pangasinense couples to plan their family and practice responsible parenthood to provide a brighter future for their children.

His message was directed to the young and old couples who attended the Responsible Parenthood/Family Planning Couples’ Fair which was sponsored by the provincial government through the Provincial Population Office (PPO) on August 30 at the Sison Auditorium.

The governor also asked all couples to cascade their learnings to their community so as to re-echo the government’s call to practice ‘planning and spacing’ for the sake of raising happy and healthy children. “The smaller the number of your children the more you give them a brighter future,” he stressed.

Inasmuch as he called on all Pangasinense couples to join the government’s crusade to do what is basic and right for the younger generation, Gov. Espino said the present administration has several programs and projects that are geared towards building healthy community such as the Kalusugan Caravan which is actively participated in by no-less than Pangasinan First Lady Karina P. Espino.

Meanwhile, Assistant Regional Director Wilma Olpindo, Commission on Population Region 1, commended the Province of Pangasinan for being one of the most supportive provinces throughout the country when it comes to the national government’s policy on health and family planning.

Pangasinan PPO chief Ellsworth G. Gonzales, on the other hand, noted that the couples’ fair is the culminating activity of the Family Planning Month celebration which is conducted on August.

The event was highlighted with Couples’ Orientation on Responsible Parenthood and Family Planning wherein the participants were asked to pass through various trails in which each trail has assigned population officer that tackled specific lecture.

All participants were treated with medical consultation and responsible parenthood/family planning services.
