BURGOS — A grade 9 student of the Jose Rivera Bonsay National High School in Barangay Pogaruac, Burgos was arrested when he was caught by his teacher in possession of a hand gun in school on Thursday (August 3) at 1:00 p.m.
Initial investigation disclosed that suspect identified as the one Jever Angelo Sison, 16, who is in Grade 9 B and a resident of Barangay Ilio-Ilio in Burgos town was showing the hand gun to his classmates while they were having a quiz.
The class teacher, Evelyn Cabatbat, curious that her pupils had become unruly, approached Sison and saw the hand gun in his possession.
The hand gun was a home-made Cal. 99 mm Smith and Wesson revolver with five live ammunition inside its chamber.
Cabalbag, confiscated the hand gun and immediately reported the matter to Barangay Chairman Oswald Ginez, who later called the police.
The boy was immediately brought to the Burgos Police Station where he was detained pending the filing of complaint against him for violation of Presidential Decree No. 1866 as amended by Republic Act No. 10591. (Leonardo Micua)
