THE establishment and development of an Information Technology (IT) Park on a three-hectare area in Dagupan City is being sought by Dagupan Urban Satellite Vision Inc. (DUSVI).
In his letter to the Dagupan Sanggunian, Kerwin T. Fernandez, president of DUSVI, the company is seeking a resolution endorsing the project for the purpose of accreditation with the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA).
PEZA earlier picked Dagupan as one of the new economic zones in the country to specialize on IT-BPO industries as well as tourism, among others.
Fernandez informed the city council that DUSVI was earlier granted a pre-qualification clearance for the declaration of its 30,000 square meters property located in Barangay Lucao in Dagupan as an IT Park.
He said DUSVI plans to put up an IT Park complex capable of providing infrastructures and other support facilities required by professionals and workers involved in IT enterprises, for easy access to such amenities.
The proposed IT Center will have a BPO office that will be constructed as soon as the project is approved by way of a Presidential Proclamation.
Fernandez said the IT Park will invite locators who will invest and put up businesses in the said center that will not only generate employment opportunities but generate additional revenues for the city government. (Leonardo Micua)
