LINGAYEN– To reinforce the promotion of the tourism destinations in the province, the Provincial Tourism and Cultural Affairs Office in partnership with the Department of Tourism – Region 1 (DOT-R1) organized a training seminar for 32 tourism industry workers as tour guides from July 31 to August 6.

“The new tour guides are reinforcements for the province’s aggressive tourism promotions agenda,” said Provincial Tourism and Cultural Affairs Officer Malu Elduayan.

Tour guiding services have become in-demand, following the influx of more tourists in Pangasinan who frequently visit the various tourism wonders the province offers.

According to Gov. Amado Espino III’s  2017 State of the Province report, Pangasinan posted 8.78million tourist arrivals in 2016 surpassing 2015’s 6.75million visitors.

Top three most visited tourist come-ons in Pangasinan are: Provincial Capitol Complex in Lingayen, Minor Basilica of Our Lady of Manaoag, and the Hundred Islands National Park in Alaminos City. (PIO/ MGNO)
