Attempt to pass on shabu inside jail foiled

LINGAYEN–A detainee and his visitor at the Pangasinan Provincial Jail are the subject of an investigation when a jail guard caught him with a sachet of shabu and two folded aluminum foils placed inside a pack of cigarettes handed to him by his visitor.

Marlon de Guzman, a detainee, was visited by Invensor Agpoon, alias “Soy” 39, 11:35 a.m. on Wednesday (August 16) when the latter tried to pass on a pack of cigarettes through a jail guard.

The contraband was discovered when the jail guard opened the pack for inspection. The jail guard called De Guzman from his cell and when he met Agpoon, the latter handed him the pack of cigarettes.

De Guzman is in jail for a case of violation of Republic Act No. 9165 while Agpoon is out on bail for a charge of Illegal possession of Dangerous Drugs, Illegal; Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Illegal Possession of Ammunition.

Agpoon, who managed to flee before the pack could be inspected is now the object of manhunt. (Leonardo Micua)
