Alaminos City wins regional MMK award
ALAMINOS City was adjudged as the regional winner of the Malinis at Masaganang Karagatan (MMK) or the cleanest coastal municipality of the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) in Region 1.
City Mayor Arthur Celeste said Alaminos City will represent Region 1 in the nationwide competition of MMK.
Validators from BFAR national office are expected to arrive on the last week of September to validate Alaminos City’s qualifications.
The MMK was launched by the Duterte Administration to encourage local government units to implement best practices, to promote conservation, management and sustainable development of municipal waters.
The grand winner or the national winner will be announced in the observance of Fish Conservation Week on the last week of October. (Nora Dominguez)
