Two shopping malls rising simultaneously in Dagupan

TWO more shopping malls are rising in Dagupan, adding to the six malls already existing and operating in the city.

This was revealed by Mayor Belen Fernandez who said construction of The City Mall owned by Golden Dragon Inc. and located in Barangay Mayombo, and SM’s Hypermart located in M.H. del Pilar Street (lot formerly owned by defunct Pantranco) are ongoing.

Construction of The City Mall is expected to be completed sometime in September this year while construction of the SM’s Hypermart has just started and is expected to be operational sometime next year.

The already existing shopping malls in Dagupan are CSI the City Mall in Barangay Lucao, the CSI Market Square and Magic Centerpoint in downtown Dagupan, Magic Club on Guilig Street and Puregold at BHF Plaza in Mayombo.

Meanwhile, Sta. Lucia Realty is developing a high-end subdivision in Barangay Bolosan in the eastern part of the city.

With the expected further congestion in the city’s commercial business district, the city government has already offered three additional growth centers identified in the city’s newly approved Comprehensive Land Use Plan (CLUP) to future investors.

Fernandez said the designation of Dagupan as one of the economic zones in the country by the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) is timely as CLUP now enables the city to offer more areas to investors in business processing and outsourcing, information technology and tourism.
