Online job portal launched in Pangasinan

LINGAYEN, Pangasinan– “In your success, do not forget who you are. Do not forget where you came from. You will always be a Pangasinense,” Governor Amado I. Espino, III, reminded jobseekers, and participants during the Provincial Employment Services Office (PESO) Jobs Fair, and launching of HotJobs Pangasinan held at Sison Auditorium in Lingayen on July 18.

The young governor acknowledged HotJobs Pangasinan for bringing the online job portal to the province which will open more employment opportunities to fellow Pangasinenses who are seeking work, and for proprietors searching for local, and international manpower.

According to HotJobs Philippines CEO Maria Jesusa B. Viray, the partnership between the provincial government and the online business firm started as a vision to create a platform that will link world-class Pangasinense talents to Pangasinan-based employers and agencies.

With over 20 companies already registered to the platform with hundreds of vacancies already posted online, Viray promised that through the online platform, Pangasinenses will no longer need to uproot from the province and compete for work in the National Capital Region (NCR) where salaries are haggled down.

The online job portal will not only help applicants in their job search, it will also help them to consider the idea of staying in the province to help boost the local economy and become more progressive just like how Pangasinenses boost Metro Manila, Viray added.

The partnership between HotJobs Philippines and the provincial government of Pangasinan was sealed through a memorandum of agreement signed by Gov. Espino and Ms. Viray with PESO Manager Alex Ferrer and former Provincial Administrator Rafael Howard Baraan, signed as witnesses. Mr. Baraan was instrumental in making the tie-up of HotJobs Pangasinan possible.

Ferrer expressed elation on the partnership, stressing that this move is in line with HotJobs Philippines’ interest in empowering world-class employees and professionals from the province through a province-based employment option.

The area-specific job portal HotJobs Pangasinan will cater to the high population of skilled and talented Pangasinense applicants searching for local and international work, Ferrer added.

The online job portal launching which coincided with the PESO Jobs Fair, catered to at least a thousand job seekers.

According to Ferrer, there were no posted age requirements during this jobs fair, opening the event to all age brackets seeking employment. Ferrer stressed that the even senior citizens can still function as a call center agent. (Krystle Mae Jimenez Reamon)
