Grenade found in STL outlet
URDANETA CITY — The Urdaneta City Police Station clarified there was no bomb explosion as rumored but simply the disposal of a hand grenade discovered by a street sweeper in front of a Small Town Lottery (STL) outlet early morning in Barangay Nancayasan.
P/Supt. Neil Miro, city police chief, made the clarification as he reported that the discovered grenade was properly disposed of by the responding Explosive Ordinance Disposal (EOD) team.
EOD brought the hand grenade to a grassy area some 150 meters away from where it was found and properly disposed of. No one was hurt.
The city police continues to investigate the motive behind the presence of hand grenade and who were behind it. (Nora Dominguez)
