CONSTRUCTION of the Dagupan City Diagnostic Center and Lying-in Clinic beside the City Health Office (CHO) here is set for completion by October this year and operational before the end of 2017.

This was confirmed by City Health Officer Dr. Ophelia Rivera, last week before the city council.

The project is a joint collaboration between the Department of Health (DOH) and the city government. DOH is funding the construction of the building at P13.4 million while the Dagupan City government provided the lot.

Once completed, the CHO will operate the facility.

The center will provide services like blood test and blood analysis, echo-cardiogram test, X-ray and ultra-sound for free to indigents and the equipment needed in blood test and analysis, Rivera said.

She said DOH also promised to deliver the Echo-Cardiaogram, X-ray and ultra sound machines to the center.

Rivera said there will be from 3-5 five beds in the lying-in clinic but she asked Mayor Belen Fernandez to provide an extension room as she expects up to 10 mothers to deliver their babies there daily.

The center’s diagnostic services will be provided free to indigent residents.
