June 20, special non-working day in Dagupan City

MALACANANG Palace has declared June 20, Tuesday as a special non-working day to enable Dagupeños to celebrate and participate in the observance of its 70th Charter Day anniversary.

Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea signed on May 30 Proclamation No. 219.

This year’s celebration is anchored on the theme “Dagupan Pitoran Dekada La: Karuman, Natan, Nabuas (7th Decade of Dagupan: Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow).”

Scheduled activities for the day include a Thanksgiving Mass with a floral offering in front of the bust of Speaker Eugenio Perez at Herrero-Perez, “Dagupan Nen Saman (Platinum memoirs of Dagupan Contest), Display of the Seven Decade Timeline Tarp of  Dagupan City, songwriting contest, “Kakanen” Trade Fair (display of the local products and delicacies), “Platinum “Laki/Bai” (Search for 70-year-old Dagupeños), Young City Officials Leadership Training, “Aninaw” (writing workshop on poetry),  short film making contest, “Batik Ulupan” (fun run), “Palyagan na Awaran” (Dagupan History Quiz Bee), visual and theater arts workshop, garden mass wedding, “Parada na Dekada” (Platinum Parade), “Kansyon na pankakasakey” (Unity Singing), search for platinum baby, gala night,  and Chess Summit.
