Espino hails Cardona’s heroism

LINGAYEN–Gov. Amado Espino III hails the heroism of Marine Private First Class Eddie Cardona Jr. of Bolinao town.

“The people of Pangasinan salute and honor the bravery and heroism of our kabaleyan, PFC Eddie Cardona, Jr. who died in a clash with members of the Maute terror group in embattled Marawi City on June 9,” Espino said.

The governor said there is no greater love and sacrifice than to offer one’s life for others and for his country.

“Surely, his noble deeds will not be forgotten as the whole nation will forever remain grateful to his ultimate sacrifice,” he said

To honor the deaths of PFC Cardona and other soldiers who died in action in Marawi City, Espino ordered the hoisting of the Philippine flag at half mast at the Capitol Plaza.

The governor expressed deep condolences to the family of the fallen soldier.

“Truly, we take pride that we have PFC. Cardona as a brave Pangasinan Marine,” Espino said. (Leonardo Micua)
