Entrepreneurs attend free DTI negosyo seminar

SOME 200 small and medium entrepreneurs in Pangasinan attended the free ‘Kapatid Mentor Me’ Program, a ‘negosyo’ seminar launched by the Department of Trade and Industry Regional Office 1, held last week in Dagupan City.

DTI Assistant Secretary Blesilda Lantayona, graced the event with DTI Regional Director Florante Leal, Provincial Director Peter Mangabat and mentors from DTI were present and inspired the mentees.

Lantayona said the negosyo seminar, DTI’s 64th held in the country, aims to help micro, small and medium entrepreneurs to scale up, to become competitive and innovative in their businesses through mentoring.

Different strategies on marketing, financial and operation management were imparted to the mentees to help them realize their businesses potential and thereby help attain economic progress in the province.

The mentees were also taught how to collaborate with bigger enterprises.

Most of the mentees are into food processing like in bangus, bagoong and longganisa processing.

DTI Provincial Director Peter Mangabat acknowledged that the potential of businessmen in food processing in Pangasinan is big. Pangasinan is the second in Region 1 next to La Union that rolled out the free negosyo seminar. (Nora Dominguez)
