URDANETA CITY – Just when people thought only those behind bars are being served by justice on wheels, farmers will be served by a similar intervention beginning this month.

The Agrarian Reform Justice on Wheels (ARJOW) will travel to provinces where case load on agrarian disputes are high and rate of case resolution is low.

This was announced by Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) Secretary Rafael Mariano during the Farmers Festival held in Pangasinan.

Malaking tulong ito na lalapit ang serbisyong agrarian sa ating mga kababayan. This will ease congestion of cases,” Mariano said.

Hand-in-hand with the ARJOW is the re-activation and strengthening of the Barangay Agrarian Reform Committee

The BARC, he said, is the first line of consultation, mediation and arbitration of agrarian cases and resolve cases amicably.

“Sa barangay level pa lang, mapapabilis na ang disposition at resolution ng agrarian cases,” he explained. (PIA-Pangasinan/(VHS)
