LINGAYEN — Seventeen teams from different national agencies in the province will participate in the 1st Pangasinan Inter-Agency Friendship Games 2017 set to roll off on July 3 at the Narciso Ramos Sports and Civic Center (NRSCC) Gym.
Provincial Sports Development and Management Council (PSDMC) Executive Officer Modesto M. Operania and Edilberto Abalos, Samahang Basketball ng Pilipinas regional director confirmed last June 15.
The 17 teams from 14 national agencies participating are Bureau of Fire Protection, DepEd1, Region 1 Medical Center, Philippine National Police, DepEd Urdaneta, CENPELCO, PhilHealth, Bureau of Internal Revenue, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, DPWH, PANELCO, Social Security Services, Judiciary and National Irrigation Agency.
The tournament, conceptualized by Gov. Amado I. Espino, III, has adopted the same format of the successful 1st Governor’s Cup Intertown/City Basketball Tournament and the on-going Inter-LGU (local government unit) Unity Games.
The 17 teams will compete in a single round robin format for a total of 92 games in the next two months and the championships will be played during Civil Service Commission month in September. (PIO/KMJR)
