Poe: Let’s have more agri-preneurs

SENATOR Grace Poe was in town to grace the opening of the 2017 Mango and Bamboo Festival in San Carlos City last week.

Poe together with Mayor Bogs Resuello officially opened the weeklong festival through the ribbon cutting of the agri-livestock exhibit and plaza fiesta village exhibit.

The senator said the country should begin to raise a new generation of farmers, a generation of agri-preneurs that will employ modern technology and develop new agricultural model that will boost yields and productivity.

She said, the Mango and Bamboo Festival is a good opportunity to promote San Carlos City as a major trading center for bamboo products and furniture and as the best producer of mangoes in the country.

Resuello affirmed the senator’s suggestion as he cited the annual Mango and Bamboo festival as the best opportunity to showcase the city’s traditional produce and make the farmers proud of their mango and bamboo products. (Nora Dominguez)
