Gov. Pogi’s bikefest set on May 28

I LOVE PANGASINAN CYCLING CLASSIC

NATIONAL cycling celebrities will see action in Pangasinan when the 1st I Love Pangasinan Cycling Classic kicks off on May 28 that will start and finish at the Capitol Park in Lingayen.

Spearheaded by three Tour champions Jan Paul Morales, Mark Galedo of Marikina City and local bet Santy Barnachea of Umingan town, 77 other prominent riders from Pangasinan and neighboring provinces registered for the 192-kilometer road saga that will traverse the province’s western towns Labrador, Sual, Alaminos City, Bani, Agno, Burgos, Dasol, Infanta and Mabini.

Bankrolled by the provincial government led by the sports-minded Governor Amado “Pogi” Espino, III, a total amount of P89,000 in cash prizes are up for grabs with the top three winners pocketing P20,000, P15,000 and P10,000, respectively, plus trophy each and the fourth placer to earn P7,500 while fifth finisher is good for P5,000 with medal apiece.

The sixth to tenth finishers will receive P4,000, P3,000, P2,000, P1,500 and P1,000, and also with medal each. There will be no entry fee and all riders who survive the grueling race will also receive incentive prizes.
The bikefest will be aired live over Aksyon Radyo Pangasinan from start up to the finish beginning at 9:00 a.m.. (Jesus Garcia, Jr.)
