MALASIQUI—The Malasiqui Police Station (MPS) will hold a “Fun Run for a Cause” on May 27 to raise funds for the completion of a police community precinct (PCP) in Barangay Asin here.

P/Chief Inspector Ariel Caballero said the proceeds of this Fun Run will be used for the completion of a two-storey precinct that will benefit 14 far-flung barangays of the town.

The event will be a three- kilometer run starting from Arenas Civic Center in Barangay Poblacion.

For the purpose, there will be a 300Php registration fee with a free singlet.

“With the community precinct there, we can immediately respond to concerns of the residents”, said Caballero. Barangay Asin is eight kilometers away from the police station situated in Barangay Poblacion.

The construction of the precinct started in October last year through the initiative of P/ Supt. Roland Sacyat, chief of MPS, with the help of the local government of Malasiqui and residents who donated cash and construction materials while others volunteered their skills.

“We are grateful that the Malasiquinians are very cooperative and are united for the purpose of ensuring peace and order in the town,” Caballero said.

He said they are hoping at least 500 participants will participate in order to raise the needed amount.

First three finishers will be awarded trophy and medals.

“For those who are interested to join please contact us at Malasiqui Police Station or check our post in our Facebook account”, said Caballero. (Hilda Austria)
