THE Dagupan City Sports Commission (DCSC) will conduct another summer sports clinic for children inclined to sports on May 5-27.

DCSC Commissioner Finnela T. Sim said the summer sports clinic is open, free and with unlimited slots for all Dagupeños.

Sim said children may enroll in 11 different sports events like arnis, gymnastics, wushu, athletics, badminton, table tennis, chess, football, futsal, archery, and swimming.

Each sports event will last for 10 sessions except for archery, which will take eight sessions.

Arnis, gymnastics, wushu and athletics are scheduled every Monday, Wednesday and Friday while badminton and table tennis are scheduled every Tuesday and Thursday at the Dagupan City Astrodome from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.

Arnis and table tennis will be open for children aged 8-16 years old, gymnastics for 5-16 years old, wushu for 12-16 years old, athletics for 10-16 years old and badminton for 8-15 years old.

“While they are at the Astrodome, the participants are free to explore other games until they can pick the game that suits their interest. When they have made their decision on what sports to play or are inclined to, then they will be enrolled in our developmental program. This is the very purpose of our summer sports clinic, which is to create sports awareness,” said Sim.

Archery and swimming is open to 10-14 years old and 7-15 years old respectively.

Archery’s session will start from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.; from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon; and from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Dagupan City Poolside.
