INC leads ‘Aid to Humanity’

LINGAYEN – An estimated crowd of 40,000 Pangasinenses flocked to the capital town of the province to take part in the ‘Aid to Humanity’ activity led by the Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) on Tuesday.

Brother Glicerio Santos, Jr, INC minister and general auditor of the Church said, the ‘Aid to Humanity’ or ‘Lingap sa Mamamayan’ is part of the Church’s socio-civic responsibility to help their fellowmen who are in need.

“This Aid to Humanity is being conducted by the Church of  Christ to help our countrymen and all people, not just here in the Philippines but even overseas,” Santos said.

The goodie bags distributed to the public consisted of three kilos of rice, canned goods, noodles, sugar and coffee.

Prior to the distribution of the goodie bags, Brother Santos officiated at a grand evangelical mission in the same venue to spread the words of God in the Bible. In his homily, he expounded on the importance of being inside the one true church that Christ will save come judgment day.

Brother Eliseo Balatbat, Sr, district supervising Minister of the INC in the Ecclesiastical District of Pangasinan Central that hosted the activity, said the several months of preparation for the big event yielded positive results.

Despite the huge number of people  at the Narciso Ramos Sports and Civic Complex that overflowed to the streets leading to the Pangasinan State University,  the Pangasinan police said no untoward incident was recorded during the event. (Nora Dominguez/PIA-Pangasinan/ VHS)
